At the same time as the citizens of Hatley Township learn that they’ll have to pay $125 per person to access the beach this summer, fences have just been installed in the park next to the federal wharf (public descent). I’m not going to be paranoid, it’s probably just a coincidence!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of these fences is probably to protect the riparian strip. This small beach is now closed to the public. In fact, the fence is 6 feet high. This will ensure that all visitors wishing to go to the beach pay an entry fee of $10 (adult), $5 (child) and $8 (senior), or $125 per person for the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A sign reads \u201cSmile, you’re being filmed\u201d to discourage people from passing over it.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, what’s left to swim in Lake Massawippi for free from North Hatley? The concrete federal wharf and the concrete Dreamland park. By the way, it’s probably forbidden to swim there too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On that note, I’m off to bathe my 3 little boys at the federal wharf. Fortunately, there’s a ladder and a lifebuoy in case of accident. The only downside is that we’re likely to argue over who gets to sit on the one and only picnic table available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, all Magog beaches are accessible free of charge to residents and visitors alike. Parking costs $10 or $30 for the season. Wow! How inviting!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magog’s municipal beaches are free to access. However, some areas may have parking fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Details:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parc de la Plage-Municipale:The City of Magog charges $10 per day for parking. A season pass is also available for $30, with no guarantee of a parking space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plage de la Baie-de-Magog:Access to the beach is free, but Magog residents can park for free with a parking sticker or by identifying themselves at a pay station with a valid citizen card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other beaches:Some beaches, such as Weir Memorial Park Beach, offer free parking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Portail citoyen Magog application:The City of Magog offers a mobile application to facilitate parking reservation and payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
