I drive by Capelton Road several times a day. For several months, if not more than a year, there have been no \u201cWelcome to North Hatley Village\u201d or \u201cGoodbye North Hatley\u201d signs when entering or leaving the village. Evidently, the sign that was in place was completely rusted and left a somewhat dilapidated image of the place. Not an ideal first or last impression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know there was some kind of \u201ccall for tenders, bids or the like\u201d to make a new sign. I’m looking for the minutes that say so. Summer 2025 is upon us, but still no \u201cWelcome-Welcome North Hatley Village\u201d sign in place. The summer season officially kicks off next week with Bastille Day. Traffic will be at its peak. A sign would be great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No doubt the welcome poster is on order and will arrive shortly. Delays are frequent. I certainly hope it was made by one of our local craftsmen using noble materials to ensure that it respects our vision of sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
