A magnificent renovation has been completed on Chemin des Rivi\u00e8res in North Hatley. Beautiful new lines and a speed bump. By the way, the speed bump is hard on the car. But it’s great for slowing people down!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The street is really very nice and clean. Bravo to the municipality for a job well done! Talking to other citizens, I was told that the street is almost ready for a bike path, like the Route verte relocation project, which didn’t take place until 2023.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While doing some research, I found the file in the Tribune, but nothing more. This project seemed to me to be an excellent opportunity to make the 108 – chemin Capelton safer for cyclists and pedestrians. In fact, Chemin Capelton is currently the most dangerous spot, especially when vehicles are heading down towards the village center. Space for cyclists remains very limited and car speeds are high, right up to the parking lot at Parc des Rivi\u00e8res. By the way, the speed bumps and lines were never installed this year. No doubt it’s the responsibility of the Ministry of Transport to install the speed bumps and lines? Which might explain the delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On that note, be careful on Capelton Road. I have 3 children and I must admit that it’s stressful to walk on the side of the road. Especially since children are unpredictable!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, the municipality of North Hatley well recognizes the danger on Capelton Road.
“There are exciting plans to make the popular bike path a safer and more
enjoyable way to enter North Hatley other than the congested, dangerous and space-constrained Capelton Road.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
