At least three major construction projects are underway or about to begin in North Hatley. The most advanced is the 22 condos at Parc de la Rivière, which will soon be joined by the refrigerated skating rink and the new building at Pleasant View Beach. North Hatley is clearly undergoing a transformation.

We are also seeing the start of new residential construction projects. If you haven’t noticed them yet, the first is located at 190 Main Street (according to Google Maps) and the second at 210 LeBaron Street, again according to Google Maps.

With the master plan adopted, the PPU is now underway

Now that North Hatley has adopted its master plan, it will soon have its specific urban planning plan. The PPU will soon allow changes to be made to urban planning rules such as zoning, permitted uses, building standards, heights, etc. (these are referred to as concordance regulations), the creation of regulatory tools such as PIIAs, urban design guides, greening standards, and mobility or parking policies, as well as the prioritization of municipal investments such as infrastructure (streets, sidewalks, water/sewer systems), parks, bike paths, public spaces, and municipal buildings, often planned in several phases in an action plan.

With that said, have a pleasant walk through the village!
