Did you know that it is possible to identify the owner of a lot—land, zoning, property value—and even verify, if necessary, the purchase price and the mortgage attached to it using tools such as JLR.
Here’s how to do it:
1. Locate the lot
First, go to:
https://appli.foncier.gouv.qc.ca/Infolot/Info/Licence
Use the interactive map to find the lot you are interested in. You can enter the name of a municipality or a postal code to get there faster.
2. Obtain detailed information
Once you have located the lot number:
Visit the JLR website (https://jlr.ca) to obtain various information, including the residual mortgage, if applicable. Or go to the land registry office of the municipality concerned (e.g., North Hatley) to enter the lot or cadastral number. There you will find the name of the owner, as well as information on zoning and property taxes.
With that said, I hope you find this useful!
