Renovations to North Hatley’s Town Hall have been completed since the beginning of September. During a municipal council meeting, Ms. Gerrish mentioned the possibility of holding an open house to give residents an opportunity to tour the renovated offices and see firsthand the results of this $339,784 investment — and that is before adding the costs associated with the move, the rental of temporary office space and the relocation and setup expenses.
I would therefore like to bring the idea forward once again and suggest setting a date before Christmas — ideally, not on a weekday afternoon.
After all, it is the residents of North Hatley who are funding these renovations through their taxes. It seems only natural to open the doors for a day, giving residents an opportunity to discover the new spaces and see the results of their investment for themselves.
